Sports for all Sorts – We believe in providing an environment where every child’s passion is celebrated–and that’s why we’re investing in Esports spaces in our Clubs! Recognizing that traditional sports aren’t for everyone, we’re excited to offer a new space for kids to connect, learn, and thrive. By embracing this digital frontier, we’re ensuring that all kids have a place to belong. Join us in this journey as we continue to innovate and create a community for every child’s interest. Walnut Creek is live, and Portland is next. Which Club will be next?
Wellness Corner
Always lots of talk out there on protein. One thing I think we can all agree on is that we need enough of it to feel strong, energized, and healthy. But what is enough? The amount you need varies on your age and your activity level. The RDA, recommended daily allowance, is the minimum you should eat. To easily calculate your own RDA for protein, just multiply your weight in pounds by 0.36.
Again, realize that is the minimum, not what you need for optimal health. And we need more as we age, along with a great weighted work-out. My suggestion is to read, listen, and learn…test what feels right for you. I love reading and listening to Dr. Hyman (great blog), and his podcast, The Doctor’s Farmacy, is awesome. Here is a great episode on protein!
Product We Love
Aligning to our protein conversation…one of my favorite go-tos is a can of tuna fish. But not just any tuna, as I find many to be icky. My favorite is Ortiz Bonito Del Norte Tuna in olive oil. Not cheap, but oh so good. I have searched far and wide for the best pricing…12-packs are sold on Amazon and Cost Plus World Market has them in-store at a great price. Enjoy! But keep it to twice a week, as you don’t want mercury issues (another topic for another day).
