March Happiness is On

The race is on for the most popular Bay Club location of all—will your favorite Club win? Cast your votes on @bayclubs Instagram stories here every Monday. Keep the votes coming so your Club makes it to the finals! The winning location receives a FREE LUNCH from a local food truck for Members and Associates. Who says there is no such thing as a free lunch?

Spring Trends Abound

The color of the season is in, and it’s yellow. From shoes and handbags to cinched blazers and skirts, yellow is a consistent theme on the runway. Jodi Kahn, the VP of luxury fashion at Neiman’s, says, “Wear head-to-toe for an instant mood boost, or just a pop with a yellow accessory.” From soft butter to a deep marigold, there is a flattering choice for everyone.

Trust the Bum

Whether you are getting on a plane, in a car, or coming to the Club for a “Bay-cation”, it’s time to start applying that sunscreen. Did you know that most adult skin cancer cases are from a burn we sustained as a child? You can thank your parents now.

At the Bay Club, we are big fans of Sun Bum. We have it by the pool, in the Shops, and always on hand at Camps. Sun Bum has all the important frees…cruelty-free, paraben-free, etc., and is Hawaii Reef Compliant, which is a BIG deal! Don’t forget to apply it to the less obvious spots, like your feet, which are often left to burn in those sandals. Wear it rain or shine; your skin will thank you!

Things We’re Loving

Prime Hydration! Ok, maybe we are not loving it, but our kids sure are, so let’s dive in a bit. Not sure we have seen a product hit so hard with the tween and teen market. What is it?

It’s a new sports drink launched by two YouTube stars, Logan Paul and KSI, in partnership with Congo Brands. In all honesty, it’s a slightly better version of Gatorade. It’s free of added sugar and artificial food dyes, so for that, we are thankful. It’s a bit pricier, but I promise you it will be a hit at soccer games if you show up with a YETI full. #snackmomforthewin

A Little T.L.C.

There is so much information out there regarding our health and wellness. We will always try to take one topic and make it a bit more understandable. Today’s feature is fiber.

Did you just roll your eyes? Not the sexiest of topics but an important one, nonetheless. According to The American Heart Association, total dietary fiber intake should be 25 to 30 grams a day from food, not supplements. So, what are some easy and yummy ways to hit those numbers? We love starting the day with a high-fiber (and high-protein) smoothie!

You can add 19 grams to your favorite morning blend just by adding 1 scoop of organic acacia fiber + 3 Tbs of organic chia seeds + 2 Tbs of organic flaxseed meal. The best part–if you make a great-tasting smoothie, these won’t affect the taste and will add a cool texture!

Raspberries, pears, and apples (with the skin on) also add great fiber additions. And lentils and black beans top the list of fiber faves. Want a great fibrous kid snack? Popcorn (hold the butter).
