Your Weekly Portland Club Update: August 1, 2023
Dear Member,
Monthly Mentions
We thought we would dedicate this week’s write up to the great city of San Francisco…Yes, we are based here and we love it.
What we are listening to – Only seems fitting that we are listening to all things Tony Bennett this week. Did you know that he first sang “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” live at the Venetian Room at the Fairmont Hotel in SF in December,1961? And that the San Francisco Giants play this song after each victory at their home field? Pretty cool! Check out this countdown of Tony’s top Duets.
What are we eating – The San Francisco Ferry building just celebrated its 125th birthday this month. So, it’s the perfect place to visit and have a bite. If I had to list out my top 3 eats: a canelés de Bordeaux from Boulettes Larder; a dozen Sweetwater oysters from Hog Island Oyster Comany and finally a Secret Breakfast sundae from Humphry Slocombe. Yum! BTW, can we brag for a minute, check out our new photo of our Gateway Club with the Ferry Building in the background. Wow!
What are we doing – Perhaps our new favorite hang out in SF, is the Presidio Tunnel Tops. If you haven’t visited yet, make it a priority. It’s 14-acres of beauty that are open every day and free to all. The views are specular and the fun is had by all ages. And I have to say some of the best food trucks in all of the city, KAYMA Algerian is my fav.
What are we wearing – One of our favorite SF based brands is Quince. (Those who know Sex in the City, would call it a cashmiracle.) It’s affordable luxury at its finest. Their Mongolian cashmere crewnecks for Women and Men put them on the map and will keep them here for the long haul.
Summer Parties
Can you believe we wrapped up our final Summer Appreciation Party this past weekend in Marin. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing you all. Thank you for making each celebration so special. Love to hear how we did. Holiday Celebrations here we come.
