So many of us dress up as something SUPER for Halloween, so I thought I would dedicate today’s post to supercharging our health. Was that a bit of a stretch? Come on, work with me. 😉
The truth is, every meal, every workout, and every night’s sleep is creating the future you. Will it be a super you? I hope so! The decisions you make in your 20s will show up in your 50s. It’s never too late—or too early—to start making great choices.
And it’s not rocket science. Eat less sugar. Manage stress. Get good quality sleep. And exercise. If you’re reading this email, it means you’re already investing in some of these areas. Let’s look at a few.
Managing stress looks different for everyone. Commit to a daily pause. Stress shrinks the hippocampus, the memory center of the brain, which can ultimately lead to cognitive decline. Take that gentle yoga class. Meditate. Go for a walk (without your phone). Visit one of our complimentary Recovery Centers and try out the HydroMassage chair—you’ll thank me. Just pause.
As for exercise, make it fun. Some of us love a good spin class, while others prefer hitting the weights or playing basketball. Whatever it is, get your heart rate up each day. Maybe challenge yourself to try something new this month. The body and mind love a change-up.
