Your Weekly Peninsula Clubs Update: April 15, 2024

Dear Member,

Monthly Mentions

Welcome to this week’s edition of The Quad, your Club newsletter that covers all things happening at the Bay Club, plus a little extra.

A few folks have asked about the name of The Quad, and in true Bay Club fashion we are happy to share all of the behind-the-scenes details with you. We wanted to name our newsletter something that felt representative of our both our business and our community. Our business is comprised of the four pillars of fitness, sports, family and hospitality — and we believe our superpower is centering all of this around community. Back in high school and college, The Quad was thought of as a gathering place where people would come together to hang out, work, and have fun. We see our clubs as that similar type of gathering place for people to come together, be themselves, and do the things they enjoy most. Welcome to The Quad.

Caitlin Clark officially turns pro today! The Women’s Basketball draft is taking place this evening with three rounds of 12 picks each. We will be watching — will you?

A Little T.LC.

There is so much information out there regarding our health and wellness. We will always try to select one topic to help make it a bit more understandable for you. Today’s feature is the 12/3/30 Incline Walking Workout. The concept of this workout is simple: hop on a treadmill, set the incline to 12, and walk for 30 minutes at 3 miles per hour. Don’t mistake simplicity for ease, this workout packs a punch. It’s an effective aerobic routine that gets your heart rate up and builds strength and endurance. It might take a few tries to build up to the full work-out but it’s a great goal to aim for as we wake up our springtime bodies from winter hibernation.

Trainer tip: make sure your shoulders are back, your core is engaged, and that you’re not arching your back. If at any point you feel strain in your lower back, give it a rest. Happy walking!
