Your Weekly Los Angeles Clubs Update: August 21, 2023
Dear Member,
Monthly Mentions
What we are listening to – Diehard Swiftie or not, she is a powerhouse. Here is a fun rundown of Taylor’s top 100 songs.
Wellness Corner
As mentioned prior, we are embarking on some long-term partnerships that we think you may value. A few weeks ago, we introduced Apeiron Life. Apeiron is an Integrated Concierge Wellness company offering a science-backed program that focuses on boosting performance, reducing injury risk, and improving your overall health span.
I started my personal Aperion journey about a month ago when they collected my data–from blood work and physical tests to a lifestyle assessment. I was truly impressed with the team…both in their knowledge and the way they made me feel. Today, I had my first follow-up where we reviewed my results. It was the most comprehensive perspective that I’ve ever received. We reviewed where I am and where I need to go. But again, they made it all approachable and doable.
I am a working mom, and my self-care is often an afterthought. But guess what? That doesn’t work in the long run! Without getting too personal, we are making some shifts in my nutritional intake with an increase in B-vitamins, folate, and iron. We are also working on hydration…my goal is now 2L a day. I am simply not taking in enough non-caffeinated drinks to clear out all the bad stuff. On the fitness front, I am working on increased resistance training and adding intensity to things I am already doing (long walks sans kids).
On top of setting me up with a new plan, the team listed out local support, including a top-rated acupuncturist in my community. More to come from Apeiron but feel free to check out their site or fill out this interest form and Apeiron will get back to you.
Our turn to show Aloha – The Hawaiian Islands have always welcomed us with open arms. Now it’s time to return the Aloha. In terms of support, it’s going to be a marathon, not a sprint. There are several ways to give, and we have outlined a few trusted links here.
Monetary Donations (tax deductible):
- Created by the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation to provide resources for disaster preparedness, response, and recovery, the Maui Strong Fund is currently being used to help aid communities affected by the Maui Wildfires. You can donate online Maui Strong Fund.
- Unfortunately, it’s not just people affected by the fires, but pets too. The Maui Humane Society is asking for emergency foster homes for its animals to help make space for new displaced pets. Pet supplies, like wet and dry food, litter, and pop-up kennels are also in need. Please donate at Maui Humane Society.
Buy for good. All items listed are given 100% of the proceeds:
- James Perse has released a Maui Relief Tee.
- The Honolulu Coffee Company has released a special relief blend (so good!).
- The Shop Forward has some items, including a Lahaina Strong Trucker Hat.
